THE FIRST EVER UNCW DANCE MARATHON WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
The UNCW Dance Marathon was April 20th, 2013, from 11am-9pm on the campus of University of North Carolina Wilmington. The Delta Tau chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon hosted the charity event. Hundreds of dancers attended and raised money for the Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The event was free to the public and featured entertainment from DJ Sparxx, DJ Boi Loko, Physical Graffeeti, Zumba, Seahawkapellas, Ritmo Latino Dance Club, Rebirth Crew Breakdancing, New Heights Tae Kwon Do Academy, Irish Dance Club, Cardio Dance from Malik & Erin, this year’s Hawk It Out winner, and a rave! There were plenty of games, activities, entertainment, food, and fun!
While we had fun, we made a difference in our community. Through donations and sponsorships, we raised over $7,500 for the Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital. This money is dedicated towards a new hospitality house and also the Pediatric Pharmacy Fund, which provides pharmacy items for clinic patients without financial resources. Together, we can give hope to sick children and their families.
We hope to continue this event for years to continue making an impact in our community. Make sure to like our facebook page to stay updated for the next UNCW Dance Marathon. For The Kids!
